in which I 'fess up and behave greedily
So having just posted about the tragic unavailability of fresh tomatillos in Ontario, I went off to the garden centre -- well, actually the big tent in the parking lot of the No Frills supermarket, but whatever -- to buy all the vegetables we'll grow this summer, and what did I find there? Tomatillos. I bought two flats of them. So I guess we'll be okay for salsa verde after all.

When I said I planted tomatoes, I meant 7 plants, total. You work on a somewhat larger scale than that, with your gardening, don't you? Man, that sounds like serious labor.
And I'll get to see it all, come August.

But in the past week we also planted 2 watercress, 4 raddichio, 8 spinach, 4 arugala, 1 eggplant vine, 1 cucumber vine, 15 tomato plants (4 varieties), 6 fennel, 1 zuccinni, 4 brussels sprouts, roughly a dozen assorted herbs, and a rasberry bush. And that's just the vegetable garden. A whole lot of other stuff went into the new flower beds out front.
Thus, you see, the urgent need for naproxyn. Or morphine.

That would be terrible! But it is clearly untrue. Yay.

I can get them at the farmer's market in my neighborhood. But my neighborhood, in a surprise twist, is apparently actually becoming one of the 2 main centers for Mexican immigrants in NYC. Which may explain the very good tamales for $1.50.
