I had the same thought after I saw in this morning's paper that their kids are named Track, Trig, Bristol, Willow, and Piper. Clearly the first grandchild will be named Cullen (suitable for either a boy or a girl).

PS Track was born 8 months after the wedding. Premarital abstinence was never a high priority in this family.

Okay, I have a happier twist on that - basically McCain wanted Lieberman real bad so when he couldn't get him, he said "fuck you" to his aides and went with Palin. So when her candidacy completely implodes, which I think she's one more whack-job factoid away from (she's not even evangelical! she's a Pentacostalist! Whoop!), then he can have Liberman after all.

Welllll ... the abstinence-only crowd ... they're the people who invented the "renewed virginity," yeah? So I don't think they're really that committed to chastity before marriage so much as all sex taking place in the reproductive context, and all reproduction taking place in the marital context. But what order it all happens in - that doesn't seem to be such a concern.

There is a logic there. It's just not my logic.
