No, I'm saying two things about music: first, that starting from rock and roll in re-educating Captain America about pop music wouldn't work (I can imagine thawed-out Steve asking "when did they stop calling it jazz?") and second, that his surprise about what popular music sounds like now would probably be a small part of his greater surprise over technological change and, much more importantly, his surprise over the end of legal racial segregation in the United States.
It's entirely possible that I am underestimating the presence of union workers in the skilled trades in the present day. But the big change from 1945 is that there are men in non-management positions working in construction at all.
