Thank you very much for the reading list. I have a lot of research to do if I want to actually go forward with this in a way that's at all true to history. It's times like this I wish I'd had a better education in the social sciences (I'm an engineer). Part of what's intimidating about research (for an outsider) is the need to evaluate the trustworthiness of the sources, and that can get circular and confusing really quickly.
