coolest library fundraiser ever, plus, a plea for assistance

So among the several glories of Toronto is the Merrill library, which is a branch of the public library system devoted entirely to science fiction, including an archive of convention programs and zines and other paper ephemera related to fandom, which is an amazing resource. And the Merrill is holding a fundraiser in the form of a SFF short-story contest with a nominal entrance fee.

So, um - I appear to be writing a story to enter into this contest. It's short - probably no more than 2000 words, maybe less - and it's basically just serial-numbers-filed-off Iron Man/Thor/Avengers movieverse fanfic, except set in Toronto. But I would seriously appreciate a beta reader or two. Or three. Or really as many of you as I could talk into reading it, that would be helpful. There's no hurry at all, as the deadline for the contest is next February and I have the first draft nearly complete already. But let me know, and thanks in advance.

I would be glad to beta, provided you can wait until I have turned in my Yuletide story, because I can only think on one story at a time. (Or, okay, I can only count on thinking about one story at a time.)

Oh! Wow! really? That would be great! Thank you! And yes it can wait. I'm hoping to have the first draft finished pretty soon, but I can see already it's going to need about five drafts after that, and really I don't need it back until the end of January, and - yeah. Thank you!

Yes, really. I would love to! When you have a draft you want me to read, or if you need to bounce ideas off someone, email me. (Um, sorry though: can't help you with the Raccoon Boy issue. ALL THE GOOD SUPERHERO NAMES ARE TAKEN. Plus like 80% of the worst ones.)

Don't I know it! Also all the names, good and bad, for teams of super-heroes and super-villians, plus all super-villain names, and as for sidekicks - don't even get me started.

I guess there's no, like, Polite Boy, or Indifferent Woman. Beyond that, it's all taken. I think you're in the same boat as car manufacturers, who are running out of names for new models, which is why we will all soon be driving the Honda Something and the Volkswagen LOL. (I'd buy those, actually.)

Hey, there have probably already been five supervillains named Grim Reaper, right? But have there been any named Grym Reaper?

Also, is Cold War Lass taken? If so, what about Lady Cold War?
