Hello! I'm not going to respond any further to comments on this post. The most relevant information -- which I think can't be found elsewhere -- is now collected in short form in this post here. Thanks to all who contributed information and links. This was extremely interesting, and I'm going to bed now.

=============
[10 AM EST]
Good morning everyone! This post has evolved into a listing of journals affected by Strikeoutgate. Please comment if you know of any that are not on the lists here. I may add related information and commentary as time allows and the spirit moves me, or I may not. But all I really want to do here is come up with as complete and accurate a listing as I can. I am categorizing the journals by their intent (primarily intended to support child abuse and pedophiles, or not) so please advise me if I've gotten that wrong. Thanks for all your help so far, and thanks in advance for your further assistance!

Two consecutive posts on my f'list complain that Livejournal just purged the community [livejournal.com profile] pornish_pixies and two journals which were part of an entirely unrelated role-playing game, [livejournal.com profile] lightning_war, for Terms-of-Service reasons. (See [livejournal.com profile] ataniell93's recent unlocked post for the Lightning War story and two recent unlocked posts by [livejournal.com profile] femmequixotic for the Pornish Pixies mess and LJ's explanation to her of why they permanently suspended the community.)

This is worrying. Anyone else heard anything about these or related incidents? Who else out there has gone missing?

********************

eta.1 Two communities that requested not to be named here were deleted by mods, not suspended by lj. The same goes for [livejournal.com profile] sirry (now moved to GreatestJournal), [livejournal.com profile] hp_incest, [livejournal.com profile] hpslash, [livejournal.com profile] grave_robbers and [livejournal.com profile] chimeracafe too.

eta.1.a The same might be true for [livejournal.com profile] yaoi_drabbles, [livejournal.com profile] demoncest, [livejournal.com profile] batwingcurls, [livejournal.com profile] cpop_slash, [livejournal.com profile] love_or_death and [livejournal.com profile] sg1_rps -- that is, they recently have been deleted by mods, for reasons that may possibly be related to this current mess, but they were not suspended by LJ and I don't know if the deletion had anything to do with Strikeoutgate or not.

eta.1.a.i Turns out SG1-RPS was deleted by its mod several months ago for unrelated reasons. Also [livejournal.com profile] dirtydrabble's mod is about to delete the comm for reasons unrelated to Strikeoutgate, and the mod of [livejournal.com profile] ppettigrew deleted the comm last month for reasons unrelated to Strikeoutgate..

eta.2 Two people so far from a couple of my friends' flists also suspended: [livejournal.com profile] yaoi_slut and [livejournal.com profile] lynntownsend. Also suspended and apparently part of fannish circles: [livejournal.com profile] onewavebreaks, [livejournal.com profile] malakijr, [livejournal.com profile] athena2693, [livejournal.com profile] pushtyber, [livejournal.com profile] joeykaiba and [livejournal.com profile] omg_a_terrorist.

eta.2.b And here is a list of 22 other suspended individual journals, all belonging to members of ageplay communities (some of whom may have been pedophiles, but some apparently harmless consenting-adult fetishists.) Scroll down; the list is the first comment you'll see.

eta.2.c Besides the two RPG character journals from [livejournal.com profile] lightning_war which were suspended, and another journal from a different HP RPG which was deleted by the mod as a precaution, a charcter journal for a Hikaru no Go character, [livejournal.com profile] ogata, was also suspended.

eta.5 Hey, might this be related to the current fight over deletion between the US govt and MySpace? Probably not, at least not directly. It's much more likely to be LJ's response to the ... well, see ETA #6.

eta.6 Liz Marcs has a fascinating post about her exchange with an entity which seems to be devoted to internet purification, and which is probably related to all this, over here. The sequel to Liz Marcs' post is here. The apparent miscreants disclaim responsibilty. Hmmm.

eta.6.a The organization (or person calling herself an organization?) with which Liz Marcs was communicating now says that LJ "has shut down hundreds of ... sites" at their behest (link redacted because their site has mucho malware, reportedly.) I'm not seeing anything like those numbers. What or who have I missed?

eta.6.b And see also this website for another group pushing LJ to delete journals. This one seems better organized and more legit, but still confused about the difference between fannish/literary expressions and social, political or material support for child abuse.

eta.7 these were fannish/literary comms:

[livejournal.com profile] shota suspended.
[livejournal.com profile] wonkaslash suspended.
[livejournal.com profile] brokenboys suspended.
[livejournal.com profile] resident_pervs suspended.
[livejournal.com profile] lolita07 (a Spanish site for the discussion of the Nabokov novel!) suspended.
[livejournal.com profile] lol_porn suspended.
[livejournal.com profile] heterocest suspended.
[livejournal.com profile] artsnarry suspended.
[livejournal.com profile] incestories suspended.
[livejournal.com profile] boysfuckingboys suspended.
[livejournal.com profile] afamilyaffair suspended.
[livejournal.com profile] sbrb_blackcest suspended.
[livejournal.com profile] pornish_pixies suspended.
[livejournal.com profile] master_badtouch suspended.
[livejournal.com profile] gimmehellopro suspended.
[livejournal.com profile] riddle_torture suspended.

these were, as far as I can tell, comms intended primarily to support and/or encourage pedophilia:

[livejournal.com profile] childlove suspended - this one was a genuine pedophile site, rather than literary or fannish.
[livejournal.com profile] incestuouslove suspended. What kind of comm was this? A genuine pedophile comm.
[livejournal.com profile] disgusting_lust suspended. What kind of comm was this? Another genuine pedophile site.
[livejournal.com profile] little_children suspended. Pedophiles. About a third of its 68 members either were suspended or deleted their journals.
[livejournal.com profile] ljincest suspended. Pedophiles.
And fifteen other comms supporting pedophilia, rape and/or bestiality, which are listed here, in a comment from intrepid researcher [livejournal.com profile] iverin whose stomach and google-fu are both very strong.

and these comms were ... I can't tell. Anybody?

[livejournal.com profile] ____loli_lovin
[livejournal.com profile] violentboylove
[livejournal.com profile] fetishconfess
[livejournal.com profile] rape_porn
[livejournal.com profile] ageplaywithsex
[livejournal.com profile] razorblade_jinx

eta.8 [livejournal.com profile] heidi8 helpfully dug up the DNS information of the group that's probably responsible for some or all of this; it's here. (I very rudely linked to Heidi's post when it was locked, and she very graciously unlocked it. Thanks Heidi!)

eta.9 Does this seem like something Mina de Malfois would make up, or is that just me?

eta.10 [livejournal.com profile] jamoche is keeping track of responses from LJ Abuse to owners of deleted comms/journals over here. You can post anonymously there and responses are screened.

eta.11 [livejournal.com profile] dorrie6 has started a comm on Greatestjournal (friendslocked) for discussion of all this: Fandomtossed is here.

eta.13 [livejournal.com profile] bookshop would like mods of suspended comms and individuals whose journals were suspended to get in touch with her or with [livejournal.com profile] femmequixotic - they're organizing a collective response by the affected parties, I believe. See also this post on [livejournal.com profile] fandom_lawyers

eta.14 Many posters have been linking to this blog's list of suspended LJs. It's not complete and not entirely accurate, but it's got a lot that aren't up here. Lots of names, too, at this post on [livejournal.com profile] innocence_jihad, the point of which seems to be to demonstrate that support communities for survivors of incest and rape seem not to have been suspended in the big purge.

I've found something like 30+ suspended pedophile/related journals, just from looking at the cached pages of the deleted comms. I'll go take a look and let you know. I'm getting the cached page information from this thread (http://catrinella.livejournal.com/151812.html?thread=1114884#t1114884), but I'll try to find more. It looks like a LOT of bad comms got banned, though, which really is a good thing.

I also heard tell of another RP journal getting banned, but I'm afraid I don't know specifics as of this moment. Those of us in RPs are watching this VERY closely.

I'm also involved in a RPG. Our mod has deleted one journal just in case and asked us to carefully check all the other journals. I wonder if my RPG is the one you heard about?

Date: 2007-05-30 03:30 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] iverin.livejournal.com
The journal I heard about was a Hikaru no Go character.

I'm also leaving open an old RP journal of mine that listed "shota" as an interest just to see if anything happens. The contents were of course not explicit, but they were questionably tasteless. (The character is Hisoka from Hunter x Hunter, and the RP was a crack, over-the-top game... that should give you an idea.)

Ah, no, then - the RPG I participate in is in HP.

This is really very bad, y'know?

It's making some of us alternately uneasy and... well, frankly making us laugh. I'm big on shounen manga and anime and most of the males portrayed are middle school or high school aged. People are worried that playing characters like that is going to get them into trouble, etc... I think it's a bit early to panic, but deleting questionable interests is a good way that we can try to protect ourselves. I just wonder if we really need to lock every log we've ever written and such things.

It's bad, but thank goodness it's not worse. My main fandom could get obliterated if they really start reading things. Tenipuri is looking at HP and going "o.o" at all of the comm deletions.

The collective opinion among my friends is that the HP and possibly RP journal bans are copycats or something.

From: [identity profile] lolaraincoat.livejournal.com
I'm pretty sure it's not just HP, though - there's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory slash on the list of suspended comms, and some that look like manga or anime comms too. I mean, there's a lot more HP out there to find than there is anything else, but lj's decisions seem pretty scattershot across all the fandoms based here.

The Hikaru no Go character was [livejournal.com profile] ogata. It was a character of someone in an RP I am in.

You spelled it wrong. <.< Ogata, not Ogato. Someone made an IC post reacting to it, too, here (http://shindoucentric.livejournal.com/3554.html).

Alright, here's what I've found so far. Most of the users who were members of [livejournal.com profile] little_children were banned. I'm using those who weren't to compile the following list of banned communities:

[livejournal.com profile] adult_teen_love
[livejournal.com profile] ageplaywithsex
[livejournal.com profile] basementsociety
[livejournal.com profile] fetishconfess
[livejournal.com profile] incestories
[livejournal.com profile] lolita_icontest
[livejournal.com profile] we_nympholepts
[livejournal.com profile] kindersluts
[livejournal.com profile] sick_fetish
[livejournal.com profile] ___showsomeskin
[livejournal.com profile] beast_love
[livejournal.com profile] girlie_porn
[livejournal.com profile] masters_paws
[livejournal.com profile] mount__me
[livejournal.com profile] rape_porn
Also banned were users with such encouraging names as [livejournal.com profile] prefer12minus, [livejournal.com profile] littlegirllover.

Notably, I did see comms about sexual ageplay that were not banned, so we can regard the information on them not being reported as true.

[livejournal.com profile] boysfuckingboys looks legit, male erotic fiction? That's just a guess from the cached page. I can't tell you what was in the interests of the comm, though.

Yeah, I got through the users of that one comm and was disgusted enough not to continue. I'll try to see if any other fandoms got touched, though. So far it really looks like it's only HP, which makes one wonder...

Makes one wonder that why the heck this happened on Laura Mallory day?

Joking - know these are in no way related.

Adding more information to my post:
Based on information I'm seeing in other posts and some userinfos, I have friends who watched [livejournal.com profile] boysfuckingboys so I'm going to assume it was legit/adult fiction.

[livejournal.com profile] incestories was a fiction community.

And not all of the comms I included are for pedophilia specifically. They were just banned for some sort of offense/violation. Apologies for making no distinctions between each. Some of them were presumably banned for references to rape and bestiality.

I belonged to [livejournal.com profile] boysfuckingboys, it was a general slash fiction community.

What really gets me is the second group posting the userinfo of that comm as "proof" that it's a pedophile group and criminal, when in fact it makes it very clear that it's a slash fiction community. I'm also thrilled, as I'm sure you can imagine, that they've posted the userinfo in that context along with the complete list of members, including this journal, of course.

Thanks for compiling everything, it's been stressful for a lot of different people because of the kneejerk reaction of LJ. I do want to clarify something, though.

Having seen [livejournal.com profile] ljincest, [livejournal.com profile] incestuouslove, [livejournal.com profile] disgusting_lust and [livejournal.com profile] rape_porn at various times, I think more separation is necessary. While there were certainly people in those with less than wholesome purposes and thoughts, most of the stories and accounts in [livejournal.com profile] ljincest and [livejournal.com profile] incestuouslove were of consenting adults of age because of this particular paranoia. Likewise, [livejournal.com profile] disgusting_lust and [livejournal.com profile] rape_porn was more centered around nonconsent and rape fantasies of adults. Painting those comms with a broad Pedophiles brush may lead to the same hysteria that WfI created by throwing everyone else under one category.

Here's a suggestion, notwithstanding the interests in the cache, start lists for support/encouragement of RL incest and support/encouragement of RL rape fantasy comms separate from the pedo comms. I'm sure there will be more to come in the next few days as the banners and other information get around LJ.

I didn't see it on the list above when I made my original post, but [livejournal.com profile] fetishconfess was simply a fetish community, most of the posts in there were actually BDSM or nonconsent related. Maybe put that under a general fetish category.

I know. Isn't that fucking CRAZY. They posted a quote something from the userinfo, saying:

"Here are a couple dozen links to screenshots of LiveJournal pedophiles and child-rape advocates. Each of these blogs, users and communities are known to LiveJournal... and LiveJournal does not care to remove their activities from their services."

And then post this quote from [livejournal.com profile] boysfuckingboys:

- "boys fucking boys" community on Livejournal - "Because you can't have one pretty boy without giving him another"

They probably just can't cope with the fact that tens of thousands of women on LJ call all men "boys".

Well, on LJ and pretty much everywhere else.
